KWS Manufacturing

Screw Feeders & Live Bottoms

Screw feeders and live bottoms are one of the most accurate and efficient methods of metering bulk materials. Many processes begin with bulk materials being discharged from hoppers, bins or silos. The inlet area is flood-loaded and designed to meter bulk materials at fixed or variable rates. With our extensive knowledge and experience, KWS will provide a system to meet all of your requirements.

Covers are removed for demonstration purposes only. Equipment must be operated at all times with covers securely bolted or fastened in place to provide fixed guarding.

Advantages of Using Screw Feeders & Live Bottoms

  • Ideal for metering a wide variety of bulk materials – from sluggish to free-flowing
  • Design flexibility – Can be a single or multiple-screw design depending on hopper design and required feedrate
  • Can be designed with variable frequency drives to provide a wide range of feed rates to downstream processes
  • Bulk materials are discharged in mass-flow or first-in, first-out with uniform flow – no bridging or rat-holing of bulk materials in hopper
Screw Feeders & Live Bottoms Benefits

KWS Screw Feeders and Live Bottoms are custom designed for your application. Bulk material characteristics, feed-rate and hopper or silo configurations are considered when designing the proper solution for your application.
