KWS Manufacturing

Environmental Slide Gates

KWS Slide gates are used in a variety of applications in today’s modern water and waste water treatment facilities for controlling the discharge of dewatered biosolids, grit and screenings.

KWS Slide Gates consist of a rigid frame with a slide plate located inside the frame that either opens or closes against the flow of material. The slide plate glides along stainless steel rollers with frictionless bronze bearings. A one-piece neoprene seal prevents unwanted leakage from the gate. The slide plate can be moved by manual, pneumatic, electric or hydraulic means. KWS Slide Gates are a great complement to our material handling and processing equipment.

Manually Operated Slide Gates for Evenly Loading Containers

Environmental Slide Gates - KWS Manufacturing

Typical Applications for Environmental Slide Gates

  • Utilized at intermediate discharge points on screw conveyors for evenly loading trucks or containers
  • Located at the discharge of a large hopper, bin or silo to regulate the flow of sludge, grit and screenings to downstream equipment

KWS Slide Gates make plant layout much more efficient. Intermediate discharge points with slide gates can be added to a screw conveyor so several different process and load out lines can be fed by opening and closing the slide gates as required.

KWS Slide Gates are custom designed for your application based on proven design standards. Bulk materials including dewatered biosolids, grit and screenings can be controlled using KWS Slide Gates.

Environmental Diverter Valves

KWS Diverter Valves consist of a rigid valve body with one inlet flange and two outlet flanges. An actuating blade diverts bulk materials to one discharge or the other. The actuating blade is moved either manually or with an electric, hydraulic, or pneumatic actuator. The shaft is supported by two bearings with seals to prevent leakage. KWS Diverter Valves are an efficient method for changing bulk material flow to increase the number of discharge points and increase the flexibility of a process.

Environmental Diverter Valves - KWS Manufacturing

Typical Applications for Environmental Diverter Valves

  • Located at the discharge of screw conveyors to divert dewatered biosolids to multiple truck bays
  • Utilized at intermediate discharge points on screw conveyors for evenly loading trucks

KWS Diverter Valves allow for greater flexibility in process design and plant layout. With only two moving parts, KWS Diverter Valves are very cost effective and can easily replace conveyors in a process. For example, a single screw conveyor with a diverter valve can discharge bulk materials to one of two downstream processes, eliminating the need for additional downstream conveyors.

KWS Diverter Valves are custom designed for your application based on proven design standards. Bulk materials including dewatered biosolids, grit and screenings can be controlled using KWS Diverter Valves.
