KWS Special Features

KWS provided a heavy-duty 304 stainless steel shaftless screw conveyor that is ideal for handling sticky and fibrous materials like aluminum hydroxide slurry. Without a center shaft, material buildup and clogging are virtually eliminated, allowing for continuous, non-stop operation. The shaftless screw conveyor design also simplifies cleaning and maintenance.

To resist abrasion and improve material flow, KWS lined the troughs with Xylethon polymer liners. Xylethon offers superior wear resistance and the lowest coefficient of friction in the industry, which is critical when conveying sticky and abrasive slurries. The liners significantly extend the life of the trough while reducing energy consumption.

KWS designed and supplied a pneumatically actuated gravity diverter valve to direct material not meeting specifications outside the processing line. These diverters are built for heavy-duty applications and ensure precise, reliable operation with minimal operator intervention. The pneumatic actuator was supplied with reed switches to provide constant feedback of the diverter plate position to plant operations.

To protect personnel and ensure compliance with safety regulations, KWS equipped all rotating assemblies with OSHA-compliant shaft guards. Our guarding systems are easily removable for maintenance access and provide maximum operator safety.
