Quick Delivery of Screw Conveyors Keeps Sims Metal Management at Full Production

Challenge

Sims Metal Management recycles ferrous and non-ferrous metals at over 200 facilities located around the world. Scrap metal is received from manufacturers, scrap dealers, electrical generation companies and other sources and converted to raw materials for reuse as new products.

At the Redwood City, CA facility, Sims decided to begin replacing several old screw conveyors due to heavy wear over the years. Sims contacted KWS because they heard about the excellent quality and customer service provided by KWS from a local power transmission distributor. Sims was concerned that the existing screw conveyors would fail and wanted replacements for a scheduled shut down.
