Challenge
Sibelco is a global material solutions company that provides refined minerals for use in thousands of finished products. Minerals ranging from bauxite to quartz are used in everyday products such as aluminum and semiconductors.
Sibelco uses screw conveyors throughout the minerals refinement process and needed replacement screw conveyor flights for a critical application. Due to high temperature and the need for product purity, magnetic 410 stainless steel was required for the screw flights. In the past, Sibelco was purchasing directly from an overseas OEM. Pricing and delivery were a very serious concern, causing increased maintenance costs and loss of production.

Through a strategic partnership with the distributor and KWS, Sibelco received higher quality replacement screw conveyor flights at a lower price. Also, the lead time was reduced by 50-percent.
