Introduction
Light Farms produces and sells animal feed. Various grains are stored in silos and blended for sale to local ranchers. Light Farms and their local supplier, Eagle Mountain Bearing & Supply reached out to KWS to solve a unique application to increase productivity and prevent downtime. KWS provided a quick, easy, and sustainable solution.

Challenge
Screws are located in silos to extract grain for further processing. The area is a confined space and presented difficulties in accommodating full length KWS stock screws. Measurements were taken and KWS determined the best possible solution to maneuver and position Made-to-Order screws.

KWS devised a customized solution by dividing the screw conveyor into 4 distinct sections to suit the specific requirements of the application. Each new screw section matched precisely within the limited space allowed. The screw sections were then bolted together to create a continuous helix. This modular approach ensured that the screw conveyor could be assembled in a confined space with limited accessibility. By breaking down the screw conveyor into manageable sections, KWS engineered a solution that optimized space utilization without compromising functionality.
