KWS Eliminates Downtime at Purina Mills in Fort Worth, Texas

General Description

Purina Mills is a leading manufacturer of feed products for cattle, horses, pigs, and many other animals. The feed mill in Fort Worth has been producing animal feed for over 75 years and is still fully operational. Screw conveyors are the most common method of feeding and conveying ingredients for animal feed.

Challenge

A screw conveyor failed at the feed mill during the night and new sectional flights were needed immediately to rebuild the failed screw. The feed mill maintenance manager called the Motion Account Manager with an emergency need for sectional flights. Typical lead time for sectional flights from most manufacturers is five days. Purina Mills could not wait and needed a better solution.
