Screw Conveyor Trough Channel Extensions
Screw conveyor trough channel extensions increase performance as well as service life in many applications. Trough channel extensions are vertical extensions of a CEMA trough that add height, volume, and conveying capacity to a screw conveyor. Depending on the bulk material to be conveyed, trough channel extensions can be bolted or welded in place. KWS has developed standard designs for trough channel extensions that are rigid and long-lasting.
Features
Variety of Materials –
Modular Design – The height and construction of trough channel extensions is dependent on the lump size of the bulk material to be conveyed and can be bolted to existing CEMA screw conveyor troughs.
Benefits
Conveying Large Lumps – Trough channel extensions are used in the meat protein or rendering industry. With varying sizes of product, extensions allow smaller pieces and fines to ride in the lower portion of trough while larger pieces will traverse on the very top in a gentle “ride along” manner. Large pieces of meat products flow without restricting the desired flow rate and increase conveying capacity.
Heating or Cooling – Trough channel extensions are used to promote heating or cooling of bulk materials. The added space above the conveyor screw with trough channel extensions creates more volume to introduce heated or cool air for direct heat transfer.
