Cable Safety Stop Control Unit
A cable safety stop control unit provides quick shutoff of a conveyor in an emergency. A cable is externally mounted around all sides of a conveyor and connected to a control unit. By pulling the cable, output contacts located inside the control unit are activated. The output contacts can wired to two separate circuits, one for an alarm and one for conveyor shutdown. The use of safety controls is highly recommended for use with exposed belt conveyors and screw conveyors supplied without covers or that are equipped with “easy-to-open” covers/doors.
The control unit has rugged, corrosion resistant construction with a cast aluminum housing and stainless steel hardware. The powder-coated bright red actuation arm, which can easily be seen from a distance, rotates approximately 60-degrees when activated by a pull on the cable. The actuation arm must be pushed in and turned to reset, eliminating the possibility of an accidental reset and dangerous restart of the conveyor.

KWS provides high quality aircraft cable which ensures proper actuation with no stretching. The cable safety stop control unit is designed for up to maximum 200-feet of cable length (100-feet in each direction) on a single control unit. Additional control units can be added, if necessary.
