Question

I operate a concrete ready-mix plant and have multiple screw conveyors for conveying cement, sand and aggregate. The screws have some sort of special splined connection to the drive shaft and hanger coupling shafts. I need to replace a screw because it is worn out. Can KWS help me with a replacement screw?

Answer

Screw conveyors with splined connections between the screws and shafts are typically manufactured by WAM. WAM is an Italian equipment manufacturer and has two facilities in the US. The splined design is unique to WAM, but KWS has the full engineering and manufacturing capabilities to replace WAM screws. The new KWS screws will fit exactly in place with no further modifications. KWS can also evaluate the failed WAM screw and offer improvements to extend screw conveyor life.
