Reverse Engineered Bucket Elevator Buckets Delivered On-Time
Introduction
Motion Industries in Geismar, LA partnered with KWS to support Mosaic with replacement bucket elevator components. The application required carbon steel galvanized buckets for an existing system where no drawings or purchase history were available. Reliable operation and proper fitment were critical for maintaining production efficiency.
KWS Documented Bucket Dimensions Using an Existing Bucket
Challenge
The plant maintenance team at Mosaic did not have any documentation for the existing buckets, making it difficult to source exact replacements. Without accurate dimensions or specifications, there was a risk of improper fit, reduced performance, or extended downtime. In addition, the customer had an upcoming shutdown, leaving very little time to engineer, manufacture, and deliver the replacement buckets.
KWS Advantage
KWS quickly mobilized its engineering team to reverse engineer the existing bucket design. A sample bucket was provided, and KWS captured all critical dimensions and material specifications to ensure an exact match. Leveraging in-house manufacturing capabilities, KWS accelerated production and delivered all galvanized buckets on time to meet the shutdown schedule. KWS provided a seamless solution, minimizing downtime and ensuring continued system performance.
Customer Testimonial
