Flat Bottom Mill Duty Drag Conveyor

KWS Dragon-Flite mill duty drag conveyors are the answer to true heavy duty, severe service drag conveying applications. They are specifically designed for heavy, dusty, abrasive aggregates, minerals, and cement applications and can be relied upon to boost efficiency and keep processes flowing.

The Dragon-Flite mill duty drag conveyor uses hardened paddles attached to heavy duty drop-forged chain to convey the product along the length of the conveyor. Combined with thick wear liners along all the conveying surfaces, it is sure to provide years of reliable service for even the harshest environments.

Drop Forged Chain

Each KWS Dragon-Flite mill duty drag conveyor utilizes drop forged chain. Drop forged chain is made of a special heat treated alloy steel case hardened to Rockwell C57 – C62 with a ductile core hardness of Rockwell C40. Superior heat treatment processes allow the surface of the drop forged chain to be extremely tough against abrasive materials, yet the inner core is flexible enough to allow for years of reliable service. Drop forged chain has superior strength with a minimum breaking strength of 40,400 to 67,500 lbs., depending on the chain size selected. Utilizing drop forged chain ensures the KWS Dragon-Flite mill duty drag conveyor is ready for the harshest environments.

Abrasion Resistant Liners

Because the harshest environments demand the most robust designs, each KWS Dragon-Flite mill duty drag conveyor is designed with a complete replaceable wear liner system on all conveying surfaces. The liner system is made of 3/8 to ½-inch thick abrasion resistant materials with a minimum hardness of 235 to 400 BHN. The liner system will provide years of reliable service and is easy to maintain.

Special Alloy Return Rail

Because not just any chain return rail will do for the harsh requirements of the KWS Dragon-Flite mill duty drag conveyor, each unit utilizes a 12%-14% Hadfield Grade Manganese work hardened steel rail. The more abuse this steel sees the harder it gets. It will work harden up to 550 BHN ensuring it will match the robust design of the drop forged chain and wear liner system.

Benefits

Mill-Duty Design

Don’t be fooled by grain duty drag conveyors pretending to be mill duty. Simply putting in hardened paddles or utilizing liners at the inlet will not be enough to stand up the harshest environments intended for the KWS Dragon-Flite mill duty drag conveyor. Each unit is custom engineered to meet the demanding requirements of heavy, dusty, abrasive aggregates, minerals, and cement applications.

Versatile Configuration

The KWS Dragon-Flite mill duty drag conveyor is very versatile and can move bulk materials in the toughest applications, even on inclines up to 10-degrees. Multiple inlets, intermediate discharges, inspection hatches, and speed switches are available options and can be utilized to customize your drag conveyor to meet the specific demands of the application. With 7 standard sizes and an infinite number of custom options, there is sure to be a configuration to meet your needs.

Throttling Inlet

The throttling inlet turns the KWS Dragon-Flite mill duty drag conveyor into a feeder. This special inlet meters the flow at a constant rate from a flood fed hopper or silo into the conveyor. Multiple throttling inlets can be utilized in the same unit for inline silos or hoppers. Thanks for this innovative feature, this unit is sure to be the flagship of your feeding and conveying operation.
