Hinged Covers for Screw Conveyors

Introduction

Hinged covers allow easier access to the inside of a screw conveyor for cleaning and maintenance. KWS hinged screw conveyor covers are designed with hinges on one side and clamps or fasteners on the opposite side. Proper safety protocols must be followed before opening hinged covers. KWS hinged covers are rigid and durable, suitable for any environment. An integral backstop provides a secure resting position when the cover is open. With full-length gaskets, hinged covers create a dust- and weather-tight seal and are ideal for the most demanding applications.

For toolless entry, KWS also offers safety devices to protect personnel performing maintenance on the screw conveyor. Every KWS hinged cover is supplied with a minimum of two safety bolts that require a special tool for removal, enhancing the level of personnel protection and mitigating the risk of injury.

Features

Robust Design – Covers are made from a minimum 10-gauge steel and are flanged on all four sides for added rigidity.

Wide Variety of Cover Styles – In addition to the flat flanged cover design, KWS offers hip-roof, dome, or any other style cover as a hinged cover.

Wide Variety of Construction Materials – Covers can be constructed out of carbon steel or corrosion resistant stainless steels.

Ergonomic Backstop – Ergonomic backstops keep the cover within reach of personnel, but do not allow the cover to fall back closed or open beyond reach.
