General Description
The customer was looking for a way to offload sugar from hopper-style railcars and transfer it to a pneumatic conveying system. The equipment needed to be easily mobilized for use with various railcars at the terminal. KWS designed and manufactured a one of a kind, low profile multi-screw feeder as the perfect solution.

KWS Advantages
KWS worked to design a screw feeder inlet that matched the output of the hopper-style railcars. In doing so, we were able to eliminate the use of additional equipment that is typically used to make this transition. KWS engineers were able to design the unit to fit under the railcars with an overall height of just 9 inches.
Special Features
The customer was concerned with the irregularity of the lump size of the sugar coming from the railcar. The KWS special serrated screw flights were utilized to decrease the size of possible large lumps of sugar prior to the sugar’s introduction into the pneumatic conveying system.
