WDA Motion Alignment Sensor
The WDA motion sensor is a non-contacting extended range proximity sensor designed for bucket elevators, screw conveyors and drag conveyors to sense movement and alignment. The WDA sensor is not affected by bulk material build up and detects ferrous targets up to 3-inches away. Changes in speed or location cause sensor controls to send an alarm or shut down machinery in the event of a slowdown or failure, preventing damage or blockages in other conveying or processing equipment.
For bucket elevators, the WDA sensor ensures accurate measurement of belt speed and alignment by identifying ferrous metal elevator buckets or ferrous bolts on plastic elevator buckets. For screw conveyor and drag conveyors, the WDA sensor monitors screw rotation or chain movement by detecting a ferrous target on the screw flight or ferrous chain or paddles.
Features
High Detection Rate – Capable of detecting a target up to 2,000 times per minute for precise monitoring
Wide Variety of Mounting Options – Multiple mounting locations and configurations are available
High Temperature and Explosion-Proof Options – Sensor is available for temperatures up to 350-degrees F and hazardous areas rated for Class II Div. 1 Groups E, F, & G
Benefits
Reduce Maintenance and Downtime – Enhances process reliability by enabling the monitoring of rotating equipment via control panels and process programming
Adjustable So Only Adverse Running Conditions Trigger an Alarm – An adjustable speed relay ensures the motion alarm activates only if desired speed is not achieved within a specified time delay
Used in Wide Variety of Applications – Sensor options are available for almost every bulk material handling and processing application
