Pedestal Trough Ends
Pedestal trough ends are trough ends that include an integral platform for mounting an outboard bearing. Pedestal trough ends give greater range and versatility in the selection of seals, bearings, and drives over standard trough ends. They are used for more demanding applications.
By providing space between the shaft seal and the bearing, pedestal troughs end help prevent contamination of the bearing. This space also helps protect bearings from heat when conveying high temperature products. Pedestal trough ends can be manufactured for either a single or double bearing arrangement.

Wide Variety of Construction Materials – Pedestal trough ends can be constructed out of carbon steel, stainless steel, or high-nickel alloys for corrosion resistance and high temperature applications.
Wide Variety of Seal Options – Pedestal trough ends are designed to accept flanged gland seals with multiple rings of packing, split gland seals with a single ring of packing, waste pack seals, air or nitrogen purged seals, food grade seals, mechanical seals or even custom designed seals.
Wide Variety of Bearing Options – Pedestal trough ends are designed to accept pillow block bearing units from nearly all manufacturers. Ball, tapered roller or spherical roller bearing units with both 2 and 4-bolt designs can be mounted on pedestal trough ends. They can be used with split or solid housing pillow block bearings.

Drilled to CEMA Standard Patterns – Pedestal trough ends utilize conveyor industry standard drilling patterns for ease of installation and replacement. A standard trough end can be easily replaced with a pedestal trough end.
Ease of Maintenance – Both the shaft seal and pillow block bearing can be easily accessed for maintenance and replacement. The pedestal design allows for replacement of the seal packing on flanged and split gland seals. Pillow block bearings can be easily lubricated and inspected.
